Three Steps in Rural Lands Incorporation

First:  A "Resolution of Application" or 25% of the registered voters in the proposed incorporation area must sign a petition asking that the San Mateo County  Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCo) start the incorporation review process.

Second:  LAFCO would undertake a thorough examination of the incorporation proposal, including commissioning a “Comprehensive Fiscal Analysis.”

Third:  An election would be held in the proposed Los Pueblecitos incorporated area to decide the actual question of incorporation in March 2005.
